A jazz night often starts with small tables of 4 facing a stage. It means you end up with strangers, and it’s part of the atmosphere. After each solo, everyone applauds. There are many solos and you applaud a lot. It’s also part of the atmosphere.

In general, the better the musicians, the cooler they are. Plus, they tell you stories between numbers.

Go to Scullers Jazz Club in Allston and you’ll have all this, plus an excellent sound system and a very classy space.

The venue is not easy to access without a car, you’ll have to plan a little in advance. But the musicians are always top notch and they make the reputation of the place.

That particular night, a few months ago, it was the Dave Douglas-Elan Mehler Sextet, with Dominique Eade as a guest.

Une soirée de jazz, ce sont souvent des petites tables de 4 faisant face à une scène. On se retrouve  avec des inconnus et ça fait partie de l’ambiance. Après chaque solo, chacun applaudit. Comme des solos, il y en a beaucoup, on applaudit beaucoup.  Ça fait aussi partie de l’ambiance.

En général, plus ils sont bons, plus les musiciens sont cools. Ils racontent aussi des histoires entre deux morceaux.

Si vous allez à Scullers Jazz Club à Allston, vous aurez tout cela plus une excellente sono et un décor très classe. 

Comme l’endroit  n’est pas facile d’accés sans voiture, il faudra planifier un peu à l’avance mais les musiciens sont toujours de qualité et ils font la réputation de l’endroit. 

Ce soir là, il y a quelques mois, c’était le Dave Douglas-Elan Mehler Sextet avec Dominique Eade comme invitée.

Flushing Meadows Corona Park (texte en français ci-dessous) Until the beginning of the 20th century, Flushing Meadows Corona Park existed only in the form of marshland, as its current name still suggests. (texte en français ci-dessous) The 16 intricate floors of The Vessel, Hudson Yards, NYC The Vessel at Hudson Yards in New York City is located at the start of  Walk in NYC # 4, the High Line Hudson River stroll. Open to the public in March 2019, it is made of interconnected stairs on 16 floors; its platforms overlook the skyscrapers that have also emerged in this place at about the same time, and on the Hudson River in the distance, behind the subway depot that gives its name to the place. Its particular shape has also made it compared to a M. C. Escher drawing and it's the creation of British designer Thomas Heatherwick. Its metal pieces have been built in Italy. At the beginning, entry was free as long as you had a reserved time slot, then it was closed following some suicides, and then it reopened with new rules that didn't prevent another suicide. (texte en français ci-dessous) The ferry Charlestown Navy Yards - Boston Aquarium is one option to end Walk in Boston # 5, the historic Charlestown.  It's a 10-minute mini-cruise that brings you in front of t he North End, then into the heart of the city.   There are even seats on the outer deck, facing the city! Otherwise, you take the Charlestown Bridge back and you arrive next to North Station. It's about one extra mile walk. ------------------------------- Le ferry Charlestown Navy Yards - Boston Aquarium est une option pour finir Promenade à Boston numéro 5, Charlestown l'historique . C'est une mini  croisère de 10 mn qui vous fait passer en face du North End puis arrive au coeur de la ville. Il y a même des sièges sur le pont extérieur, faisant face à la ville! Located in the Seaport District, opened a little over a year ago, it hosts the greatest specialists in international electro dance.   Monday, June 6, it was the turn of Frank Walker and Felix Cartal to be at the mixer, each with his own energy and sound.  The sound system is impressive, loud but clear; the light shows are the most elaborate of Boston; the colorful visuals projected on two adjacent walls still transform the atmosphere.  If you especially want to dance and see your favorite DJs, you will probably regret that the dance floor is small and that most of the space is composed of VIP tables. Le Temps des amours IV, 2nd ed (the time of love IV, 2nd ed) A l'orée du bois (at the wood's edge) (texte en français ci-dessous) Most of my larger prints are now on ldart.work . "A l'orée du bois", is a hand colored linocut I made in 2000, and re-printed in 2011. For the 2nd edition, I kept the same colors but less of them, and I cut the block on the left side to make it a 6x16"image instead of the 6x16.5" it was before. I wanted this print to look like some of the cave painting you see in the South West of France. "Le temps des amours IV" is also a linocut and also a second edition but this time, I didn't change anything except the paper! I created the 1st edition in 1987, and it was part of a series of four 12.5x13" linocuts with four different pairs of animals in different stages of courtship (you can see all of them on the 1984-1990 prints page ).  The paper was different because I had bought it in France i...
